08.12.07/THIRD HEARING OF THE 21 SEPTEMBER PRISONERS TOOK PLACE

The third hearing of the socialists who had been arrested during the raids on September 21 and later imprisoned took place on December 6 at the 9th Heavy Penalty Court, Istanbul.
While entering the court building, the 5 detained socialists shouted the slogans "Long live the people's brotherhood!". During the trial, the prisoners exposed the untruth and the conspiracy-based character of the proofs that had been prepared to charge them.

The file of the socialists imprisoned for 14 months contains many different contradictive documents.
On September 21, 2006 almost 50 offices of organisations and institutions had been raided in dozens of cities, among them the Socialist Platform of the Oppressed (ESP), the newspaper Atilim, the radio channel Ozgur Radyo, the Labourer Women's Association (EKD), the Socialist Youth Association (SGD), the trade unions Limter-Is and Tekstil-Sen. More than 100 revolutionaries had been arrested and 43 out of them had been imprisoned. The wave of detention continued later on. While in Istanbul 12 of the 17 socialists who had been imprisoned after the raids were released so far in former hearings, Yusuf Demir, Yunus Aydemir, Erdal Demirhan, Ali Haydar Keles and Günes Senyuz were decided to continue to be imprisoned.


At the hearing on December 6, Gunes Senyuz was decided to be released and the other 4 prisoners to remain behind bars. The date for the next hearing was set for April 3, 2008.
The ESP organised an action in front of Besiktas Court where the trial was taking place and opened the banner read "We want freedom and justice". In a press statement the activists demanded the release of the socialist prisoners and said the following: "The trial has been turned into a means to ask for political vengeance without taking into consideration the minimum proofs demanded by the legal system. Not justice but only mechanism of the official ideology can work in a legal system that approves the fictional and deliberate claims of the police reports.
The ESP activists shouted the slogans "We want freedom of speech, action and organisation",
"The conspiracies did not work out, they will not work out ".

La troisième audience des socialistes qui avaient été arrêtés lors des raids du 21 septembre 2006 et qui avaient été emprisonnés par la suite, a eu lieux le 6 décembre à la 9ème Haute Cour Pénale d'Istanbul.
Lorsqu'ils entraient dans le bâtiment du tribunal, les 5 détenus socialistes ont crié le slogan: " longue vie à la fraternité du peuple". Pendant le procès, les prisonniers ont démontré le mensonge et la conspiration basée sur des soi-disants preuves qui avaient été préparées pour les charger.
Le dossier des socialistes emprisonnés depuis 14 mois contient différents documents contradictoires..
Le 21 septembre 2006, plus de 50 locaux d'organisations et d'associations avaient été attaqués dans des dizaines de villes, dont ceux de la Plate-forme Socialiste des Opprimés (ESP), ceux du journal Atilim, de la chaîne de radio Özgür, de l'Association des Travailleuses (EKD), de l'Association de la Jeunesse Socialiste (SGD) et des syndicats Limter-Is et Tekstil-Sen.  PLus de 100 révolutionnaires avaient été arrêtés et 43 d'entre eux avaient été incarcérés. Les vagues d'incarcérations ont continué par la suite. Tandis qu'à Istanbul, 12 des 17 socialistes qui avaient été emprisonnés après les raids étaient relâchés lors des autres audiences, Yusuf Demir, Yunus Aydemir, Erdal Demirhan, Ali Haydar Keles et Günes Senyuz

 ont été maintenus en détention par le tribunal.
Lors de l'audience du 6 décembre, la Cour a décidé de relâcher Gunes Senyuz et de maintenir les 4 autres prisonniers derrière les barreaux.  La date de la prochaine audience a été fixée au 3 avril 2008.
L'ESP a organisé une action devant la Cour de Besiktas où avait lieux le procès et a déployé une banderole avec écrit: "Nous voulons la liberté et la justice". Dans une déclaration de presse, les militants ont exigé la libération des prisonniers socialistes et ont tenu les propos suivants: " le procès a été transformé en vengeance politique sans prendre en considération le minimum de preuves qui est exigé par le système légal. Ce n'est pas de la justice, mais seulement une machination de l'idéologie officielle qui peut travailler dans un système légal qui approuve les affirmations fictives et délibérées des rapports de police."
Les militants de l'ESP ont crié les slogans: "nous voulons la liberté de parole, d'action et d'organisation" et " la conspiration n'a pas marché et ne marchera pas!"
